We partner with reliable Icelandic delivery services to ensure safe and convenient delivery:
- Dropp — Convenient pickup at numerous Dropp locations (e.g., retail partners, service points) across Iceland, or home delivery options where available.
- Pósturinn (Iceland Post) — Standard postal delivery, including home delivery (where offered) or pickup at post offices/parcel lockers.
- Leit Leið — Flexible delivery service, often used for same-day or scheduled deliveries in the capital area (Reykjavík and surroundings), suitable for urgent or specific needs.
The available shipping options depend on your delivery address, order size/weight, and product type. You can select your preferred method during checkout (where multiple options are shown).
4. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on:
- The weight and dimensions of the items in your order,
- The selected shipping method/carrier,
- Your delivery address (e.g., capital area vs. rural Iceland),
- Any applicable surcharges (e.g., for remote areas or express service).
Costs are displayed transparently before you complete payment. We do not add hidden fees. Free shipping may apply to orders above a certain threshold or during promotions (clearly stated on the Website or product pages).
5. Delivery Times and Estimates
Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and are approximate. They depend on the carrier, your location, and order processing time.
Typical estimates (within Iceland, business days, excluding weekends/holidays):
- Dropp pickup or delivery: 1–4 business days (often faster in urban areas; notification sent when package is ready for pickup).
- Pósturinn: 1–5 business days (faster in the capital region; home delivery may require SMS notification).
- Leit Leið: Same-day or next-day possible in the Reykjavík capital area for eligible orders; standard deliveries usually 1–3 business days.
We process and hand over orders to the carrier within 1–3 business days (usually faster for in-stock items). Delays may occur due to high demand, weather, carrier issues, or incorrect address details. We are not liable for carrier delays beyond our control.
You will receive a tracking number (where available) by email once the order ships. Track your package directly via the carrier’s website or our order status page.
6. Order Processing and Handover
- Orders placed before our daily cutoff (typically afternoon) are processed the same or next business day.
- We ship only on business days (Monday–Friday, excluding Icelandic public holidays).
- We verify stock and payment before shipping.
7. Risk of Loss and Title
Title to the goods passes to you upon delivery (or pickup). Risk of loss/damage transfers when you (or your designated recipient) receive the goods.
8. Delivery Issues
- Incorrect address: If delivery fails due to an incorrect/incomplete address provided by you, additional fees may apply for redelivery or return.
- Failed delivery attempts: Carriers may leave notices or attempt redelivery. Unclaimed packages may be returned to us after the carrier’s hold period (e.g., 7–30 days depending on carrier), and you may be charged return shipping or restocking fees.
- Damaged or lost packages: Report issues within 7 days of receipt (or expected delivery for lost items) by emailing info@hugspil.is with photos (if damaged) and order details. We work with the carrier to resolve claims.

- If you exercise your right of withdrawal and return goods, you bear the direct cost of return shipping unless we failed to inform you of this.
